6 New Maruti Cars: Currently, India’s market leader in the automobile industry, Maruti Suzuki, plans to hold the greatest number of strong hybrid cars in its lineup. At the moment the company is developing quite powerful hybrid models suitable for the Indian environment, with plans to launch them over the few years. The following shows a list of all the vehicles and models that are being developed or designed with their details.
Grand Vitara 7-Seater Strong Hybrid
Maruti Suzuki is also developing a first durable hybrid vehicle with the production version of 7-seater model of Grand Vitara mid-size SUV codenamed Y17, going to launch in 2025. The company plans to produce forty five thousand units on this model. It will use a series parallel hybrid system that would be jointly designed by Maruti’s long-time associate Toyota. On its launch, the new 7-seater Grand Vitara will compete with Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700 in the Indian market.
Fronx Facelift
Fronx facelift new car model of Maruti Suzuki, another hybrid model, to hit the showroom floor next year. Suzuki will install a newly developed Series Hybrid system in this well-liked crossover SUV Suzuki; in this system, the engine becomes a generator for the electric motor that, in turn, powers the wheels. The Fronx facelift strong hybrid is to be produced at around 40,000 units. The exact details about the officiated release date will be disclosed in the following months.
Next-Generation Baleno
Internally called the YTA, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno should come with the same Series Hybrid setup as the Fronx facelift. This model will be launched in 2026 to come with a complete new look of the exterior and interior part. To give its customers a taste of the new Baleno, Maruti Suzuki will be manufacturing about sixty thousand units of the car.
Spacia-Based Strong Hybrid MPV
Spacia if you are more familiar with Suzuki’s MPV model widely used in international markets is much more compact than Ertiga having more boxy shape. And regarding the news, Maruti Suzuki is going to launch strong hybrid model in its spacia model in India soon. One of the new models will feature the Series Hybrid powertrain and is still unnamed and will be referenced as the YDB. The company plans to launch this MPV by 2026 for the Indian market where it expects to produce 30,000 units of this vehicle.
Swift Strong Hybrid
Recently a mild hybrid version of the present fourth generation swift was spied during some tests in India yet it is not clear whether it will be launched in India or not. However, some current sources suggest that the carmaker plans to provide a potent hybrid version of the Swift no earlier than in 2027. This five door hatchback will be incorporated with a Series Hybrid powertrain and this car maker expect sales of 60,000 cars in India.
Dzire Powerful Hybrid
The company is expected to released strong hybrid variant of Dzire by the early 2028. This upcoming model will feature the Series Hybrid powertrain and is expected to be developed on the recently introduced latest generation Dzire.
The company has been developing a new Series Hybrid system which is one step further of hybrid technology that is described as an engine which is only used to generate electrical power instead of mechanical connectivity to the wheels.
In contrast to traditional systems of series-parallel hybrids, when ICE assists electric motor in moving the car, Series Hybrid configuration uses electric motor as the primary mover of the wheels. This approach reduces complexities, work costs, driver inconveniences, and is less noisy as compared to typical hybrids.
