Audi e-tron GT Affected by Recall in India, Corrections to be Made Free of Charge

Audi e-tron GT: The German Auto giant has issued a recall on its popular electric sports car category in Audi India with a total outreach of thirty-one vehicles all over the country. Currently, the e-tron GT range consists of two vehicles- there is the ‘standard’ e-tron GT and the e-tron GT ‘RS’.

Specific Technical Fluctuations in High Voltage Battery Modules

Official documents also state that some of the individual cell modules used in the high-voltage battery can show technical deviations. These problems are blamed on possible fluctuations in production quality by the battery module supplier that may have affected the affected automobiles.

Also, in some circumstances, high voltage batteries may overheat leading to the generation of a massive fire risk. This can lead to harms that can befall the car occupants as well as those on the other car as well as other people or losses that maybe incurred on the car.

The problem impacts 31 units of the e-tron GT made between January 9, 2020, and February 16, 2024. Audi is also likely to reach out to all users of the affected cars, with the corrections set to be carried out free of charge.
