Audi Q5 Sportback: Audi India is gearing up for the launch of third-generation Q5 mid- size SUV next year. Officially revealed earlier this year, the new model will also come in a Q5 Sportback, presented here with an even more muscular exterior and higher performance than the Q5. They are again planning to launch the Q5 Sportback in Europe from January next year; however, the customer trial will start from May 2025.
Impressive Space and Capacity
The Q5 Sportback combines the off-road elements of an SUV and the sleek and stylish coupe roofline. The second-generation model has a boot space up to 515l and 470 litres in SQ5 Sportback. Thanks to the folded second row of seats, the carrying capacity is 1,415 liters or 1,388 liters when measured to the roof. Also, it has carrying capacity to tow up to 2400 kilograms.
The new Q5 Sportback comes with Audi’s MHEV plus technology that consists of a 48-volt electrical system which works to boost the engine power and at the same time lower pollution levels. It is compatible with restricted BEV charging and parking and new powertrain generator offers an extra 230Nm torque and 24bhp.
The same system is also used to an electric air conditioning compressor, therefore the AC can be operational at full capacity without the engine. The lithium-ion battery of 1.7 kWh is used to power the system; the belt alternator-starter is used to engage the engine and recharge the battery.
Advanced Transmission & MHEV Plus Technology
At this time of launch the new Audi Q5 Sportback would be available with three power options, though more powertrain derivatives would be available in future. All models include MHEV plus technology which can add up to 24bhp of power. Both of them are equipped S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and quattro all-wheel drive system in order to improve the driving ability.
