Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV To Launch In India, Check The Details Here

Hyundai Ioniq 9 EV: Automaker Hyundai revealed the Ioniq 9, a three-row electric SUV, at the recently concluded 2024 LA Auto Show. Intended to become the new flagship going forward, the Ioniq 9 is expected to be launched in India at the Bharat Mobility Show on January 17.

The new SUV model will be first introduced to the Korean and the North American markets in the first half of the current calendar year and then take to other markets in the region. Assembled on the E-GMP modular EV architecture as other models such as Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 9.

Exclusive Exterior of Ioniq 9

At 506mm, the Ioniq 9 is the largest Hyundai electric SUV and 45mm greater in size than the Kia EV9. It has deliberately sharp lines with rounded corners, and comes with an upright tailgate design. The headlamps and tail-lamps also get specific Parametric Pixel inserts, a design cue seen on the Ioniq 5 EV model now. Standard wheels are 19×8.5, while 20×9 five-spoke wheels with 21×9.5 five-twist wheels are optional. There are 16 different opportunities to choose exterior colors and seven interior ones, which is quite versatile.

Premium Interior and Safety Features

The Ioniq 9 is offered in 6 and 7-passenger configurations, equipped with first two row seating with active massage as an option. The second row of the seats can be turned to face the third row while the car is not in motion. Some of them include; panoramic roofs, 12.0-inch touchpoints, Infotainment, and 12.0 inch digital instrument cluster nestled in a curved glass panel.

Other features include light on dashboard, AC vent on roof, up to 100W USB-C ports in each row, and two different sound systems depending on the trim. Safetly features include having 10 airbags, ADAS with multifaceted cameras and sensors; ABS and EBD systems also come as standard for the Ioniq 9.

Battery Range of Ioniq 9

This model’s battery is 110.3 kWh, and the WLTP test cycle range is up to 620km for Ioniq 9. Based on the E-GMP platform it supports 400V/800V charging and can be charged from power as low as 10% to 80% within 24minutes using a 350kW charger. This is made possible by the feature that lets a V2L charge external appliances.

On the standard Performance, there is the LR RWD that produces 218 horsepower, with capacity for 0-100kph in 9.4seconds. The LR AWD has an additional front motor; it makes 313 hp; the 0 to 60mph take time is 6.7 seconds. The Performance trim brings true dual 218hp motors and the most power. Most important technologies are dynamic torque vectoring, wind stability control, Terrain Traction Control as well as AI-based Auto Terrain Mode for different terrains.

Know The Launch Detail

The Ioniq 9 will come to India as the flagship electric model for Hyundai but does not appear to be immediately producible like the Kia EV9. On the same SIAC, Hyundai will also present the Creta EV model at the event, while the new generation of Hyundai Venue compact SUV is planned for next year’s launch.
