Hyundai Tucson Crash Test: Hyundai’s new model Tucson has stood out as the first car from the manufacturer to face testing in the latest crash tests by Bharat New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) featuring a perfect 5 star rating. In as far as the tested attributes are concerned the performance of the SUV was outstanding in the score card on adult occupant protection, 30.84 of the possible score of 32 and fairly good score of 41 out of the possible 49 in child occupant protection.

The Hyundai Tucson that was tested for Bharat NCAP came with driver and passenger’s front airbag, belt pretensioner, belt load limiter, side head airbag, side chest airbag and side pelvis airbag. The car is also equipped with ISOFIX anchorage points for child seats, ESC system, pedestrian friendly attributes, and even seat belt wake up alarms. Only the Platinum and Signature versions of the SUV have a 5-star safety rating.
In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test the Hyundai Tucson received 14.84 of 16 points, in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test the car scored maximum possible 16 of 16 points. In the frontal offset test, both driver’s chest and foot was considered to have adequate protection while the other body parts were rated as good, while the passenger had all body part rated to be good. As for both tests of side movable deformable barrier and side pole impacts, in every area, occupant was afforded good protection.
