Jaguar Type 00: After releasing its logo and brand identity last month, Jaguar is back with a new model that it says is a preview of the one that it is plotting to be launch by the end of the second quarter of next year.
Called the Type 00, because “00” means “zero emissions” and a new cycle, the concept car has an impressive and rather provocative image that reveals the vision of Jaguar’s future development and its products. This layout is significantly different from the early Jaguars which were traditionally beautiful but somewhat inconspicuous. Talking to Autocar India Jaguar’s managing director Rawdon Glover said that this was the idea, this is the car to get attention of the audience who is interested in dramatic, high-contrast designs.
It’s a risky roll of the dice, but Glover stresses that the company didn’t want to build an EV that looked like all the other EVs one can purchase today, which all look as if they were molded using nothing more than a wind tunnel with range being the dominating parameter. This trend is deviated from by the design aesthetic of the Type 00, which features traits that are a clear cut from that design script, such as a high, angularly rising nose, an elongated bonnet even when the design does not demand for it, large wheel extents, and defined wheel well arches.
The two show cars have the shamelessly bright pastel pink and blue colours, which refer to Miami Art Deco and cause controversy. The Type 00 also highlights the new brand design elements, i.e., as for the grille, it is the Device Mark; the Makers Mark is on the fenders and the Artist Mark fits the hubcaps.
Classy Exterior of Jaguar Type 00 Concept Car
The currently produced Type 00 includes thin headlamps above a large vertical section of the bumper with an air splitter, intakes, and daytime running lights. The bonnet is painted with a strikethrough pattern that runs through to the cabin area for some simplicity.
More, the bonnet length is visually extended by the lengthened wheelbase, accentuating GT character proportions. That would be, for the production car, a four-door GT although the concept is a two-door. Other important points which can be noted are large diameter wheels , brass ingots marked with Makers Mark which hint at rear view cameras and a power Operated hatch in front left fender concealing a work case containing three totems referred as prism case. These key fobs set operations such as ambient lighting and screen graphics that might extend to drive modes of the production car, inclusive of the valet mode.
More surprisingly, the tail-lights are omitted as they are incorporated within the strikethrough pattern in the upper and lower lines at the rear. The rear also has a glassless tailgate here too and the cameras are used to offer the rearview inside the car. The actual realization of this concept – the modular sessel, a large fixed glass roof, also made of the same strikethrough as on the chair – projected a fascinating play of light and shadow when illuminated by spotlights during the presentation.
Elegant Interior of Jaguar Type 00 Concept Car
The core-heavy instrument panel and center-spine brass detail split the Type 00’s wide butterfly doors into two cockpit environments. The stitch-free wool blend seats look like they are floating they are anchored on a travertine stone console which supports both the seats and the spines.
Consistent with the minimalist concept, the screens are not visible; this is extended on a button and slides up They same as storage shelves which are also concealed and once extended are highlighted with lights. This strikethrough pattern helps hide such details, such as a soundbar and gives the interior an Art Deco touch.
EV Platform & Launch Details of New Jaguar
The Jaguar production car will use Electric Architecture and once charged will go a distance of 770km on cycle WLTP and will be capable of charging 321km in 15 minutes. Although with Tata Motors is planning to adopt JLR’s Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) for Avinya range, JEA has alluded to vehicle design and manufacture exclusively in the UK, without extension of usage to Tata Motors.
The car is set to be launched in late 2025 but in phases and the UK and the US are in the first phase while India is to follow in 2026- 2027. The 4-door GT will thus be and placed in the upper segment in order to distance Jaguar from the ‘mass-premium’ category. Glover also mentioned that future models will aimed at the broader market with body style options.
People have been wondering where car and color options were missing from teaser, but now this concept car gives a clear indication of the future products. By most stretches, it can’t exactly be called a Jaguar but the car is undoubtedly eye-catching and assertive. According to Glover, “Type 00 is a signal of intent that Jaguar is changing.” In the end, it is the ability of the change to be accepted by any prospective buyer that will decide the future of the new Jaguar.
