Until recently, anyone seeking a 2025 Jeep Wrangler with a V-6 engine had to settle for a model that comes with a manual stick shift and three pedals. This was so because, from the onset, Jeep chose to remove an automatic transmission feature on V-6 models. But they was forced to get back the discontinued optional eight speed automatic after people complained.
Jeep Responds to Customer Demand
It is clear that the Jeep community did not like the initial plans of the brand regarding the connection of the Wrangler with the 285-hp 3.6-liter V-6 with nothing else but six-speed manual gear shift. Jeep North America Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Bob Broderdorf issued a statement saying that the decision to bring back the automatic V-6 powertrain was prompted by customer demand.
In base guise, the new 2025 Jeep Wrangler includes the Pentastar V-6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Getting down from $33,990 for the fundamental two-door model and from $38,590 for the four-door body style. Jeep claims that the automatic transmission option, for the V-6, costs an additional $4500. Otherwise, the 270-hp 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder, available only with an automatic, is a $2500 more than the V-6 manual.
Moreover, you have the plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe and the 470-hp V-8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392, which by the way, may be the final production year for this model—automatic only.
