With its market launch in India soon, Kia Motors has released yet another teaser of its Kia Syros compact SUV, which could feature a panoramic sunroof. Located one tier above the Sonet in Kia’s lineup, the Syros is intended to provide a higher level of comfort including heated and cooled and power adjustable front seats, driving and traction modes, leatherette interior and Bose sound system.

As it was outlined before, the new Kia Syros is all about standing out from the myriad of compact SUVs with more emphasis on rear passengers’ comfort. A deliberately high bluff forward of the windscreen, a low roof-line and especially a vertical tail are stylistically integrated to optimize the space available for passengers. Even with length of under 4 meters, the Syros allegedly offers as much interior space as the Seltos, making it a roomier car compared to the Sonet.
Stills from Kia portray that the design of the Syros mimics the flagship EV9. Looking at the Syros, they appear to have a unique design, with a clam-shell bonnet that tapers back at a sharp angle upward from a tall vertical front end. Another readily discerned design feature is characterized by the window line which rises progressively steeply as it reaches the backside of the vehicle at the rear quarter glass. In addition, the-like color of interruption on window line at B-Pillar reminds me the look of the Skoda Yeti.
Powertrain Option of Kia Syros
It is also yet unclear whether Kia Syros will have ICE or electric powertrain as it is more likely that both types will be present in this model. Kia intends to release the ICE models first before releasing the electric models for the cars. There will be two versions: both will be built on the same platform and will be available in front-wheel drive options.
The new Kia Syros compact SUV will fit into the market above the sub-$4 million SUVs that are the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and the recently launched Skoda Klyaq. However, the company is yet to come out and confirm the information, it is believed that Kia will unearth the production form of the Syros at the Bharat Mobility Show January 2025.
