Lexus ES Facelift: The global Lexus ES sedan lineup has just received its second aesthetic overhaul, which means that it may be a while before the eighth generation finally arrives. Making its debut at this year’s Auto Guangzhou in China, the upgraded ES features an overhauled exterior design and a new dashboard layout without numerous buttons.
More importantly the ES remains relevant and Lexus continues to push it out as it accounts for more than 58% of the sales for the brand this October. It is also very popular in China, the country which has seen more than 1 million units own this type of car.
Characteristics Of Lexus ES Sedan
The new Lexus ES is marked by the reconsideration of the spindle grille – it looks like the grille of the RX model. Sharp matrix LED headlights are installed and enhanced by boomerang-shaped daytime running lights. At the back, a slim LED light bar smoothly links the modified tail lamps, which are contain L-formed LED accents for design sophistication.

Lexus ES interior has received further improvement in the new 14-inch touchscreen multimedia package that handles both the infotainment and climate controls. This enhancement has led to a reduction of the restricted use of buttons, especially on the central console and the shift lever. Altogether, the cabin keeps a new Silver Lance Moon Ridge décor on the dashboard and doors as well. Two special editions are available for the Chinese customer; a Snowy Night White and a two-tone Tanzanite Snow Night.
The new form of the ES model retains the same mechanical arrangement for China and thus one expects the new Lexus for the ES to arrive in India will the same mechanics. India is offered the ES with a 218hp 2.5-litre petrol-electric hybrid powertrain starting at Rs 64.00 lakh going up to Rs 69.70 lakh. One of its competitors is Mercedes-Benz E Class, BMW 5er and Volvo S90 Exteriors. The whole model, as it stands, looks and feels vastly improved and while the exact launch date remains uncertain though Lexus is expected to bring in the new ES into India next year.
