Lexus GX550: The new 2025 GX550 Overtrail and Overtrail+ have gone up by 1 inch of suspension lift than the current models of Premium and Luxury trims. The GX, which was redesigned from the ground up for 2024, rides on a high-riding boxy outline, features a new twin-turbo V-6 engine, and includes the first overland-spec Overtrail trims seen from Lexus.
The Overtrail+ version introduces more highly developed functionality to the equation. Oddly enough, while Overtrail models are shod with all-terrain tires, E-KDSS which lets the car disconnect the anti-roll bars, and Crawl Control – low-speed traction management system – the latter came initially with the same ground clearance as GX trims.
New Specs of 2025 GX550
New specifications include one additional inch of suspension lift which brings ground clearance of the 2025 Lexus GX550 Overtrail and Overtrail+ to 9.84 inches from 8.66 common with base and mid-grade trims. This lift however does not improve the Overtrail models’ standard off-road measurements; approach, departure and breakover angles remain set at 26, 22 and 24 degrees respectively, or wading depth of 27.56 inches; still, off-roaders will never complain about having more clearance to keep the underbody out of harms way.
The only other notable updates for the 2025 GX are minor: The Driver Power Select Steering Column with Memory feature may adjust the position of the steering column, driver seat, and mirrors for available memory by the trim level. Furthermore, new to the Overtrail models is pre-wiring for auxiliary switches as well as factory-fit air compressor.
Pricing of 2025 GX550
The costs of the new 2025 Lexus GX are presented with a small rise, and the most profound changes were applied to the more equipped models, particularly the Overtrails. While the mass market GX550 Premium and Premium+ models will cost $1,035 and $500 more, respectively, at $65,285 and $69,750. The GX550 Luxury and Luxury+ are $500 higher than last year while a far bigger $3,680 increase comes with Outrealm and Outrealm+.
