Mahindra XEV 9E Launched: When the India made Mahindra XEV 9e, a coupe-SUV, was first launched in the market, its starting price for the base Pack One variant was ₹21,90,000 (ex-showroom). The complete tariff scale is to be released at the end of January, before the model hits the dealerships. Included with the automotive is the fact that the charger cost is not included in the mentioned figures.
The XEV 9e is the bigger and more expensive of the two freshly unveiled born-electric SUV models from Mahindra, the other of which is the BE 6e for ₹18,90,000. Both models’ deliveries are set to begin in February-March 2025.
Mahindra XEV 9e Dimensions and Styling
Speaking of the physical dimensions the XEV 9e is 4,790mAh in length, 1,905mm in width and 1,690mm in height which are larger than the dimensions of the XUV700 which 4,695mm in length. It is also larger in terms of wheelbase, with a wheelbase of 2775mm when the XUV700 comes in with a wheelbase of 2750mm in its length. Mahindra stands at 207mm of ground clearance and the XEV 9e had a turn circle of 10 meters just slightly better than the Re2.
The XEV 9e has a darkened grille extending a thin LED light bar unifying sharp headlights, piano black styling, sleek door handles, and a strong characteristic line. It has Aero optimized 19 inch alloy wheels with 245/55 R19 tires and available 20 inch alloy wheels with 245/50 R20 tires respectively. At the rear, new connected LED tail lamps designed as slimmer lamps are provided below the boot spoiler with the illuminated “infinity Mahindra” branding logo fitted on it. It includes space saver spare tire 135/80 R18.
Mahindra XEV 9e Interior Features
The 5-seater XEV 9e comes with a three-screen deck, all 12.3-inch displays with a resolution of 1920 X 720 pixels, driven by Mahindra’s Adrenox platform. Standard equipment includes a two spoke flat-bottomed Illuminated logo on the steering wheel and has borrowed buttons from the BE. The main points are about electronic parking brake, drive mode select, brake-by-wire and simplification of controls. The XEV 9e also speaks of great storage solution with boot space of up to 665 liters and frontal trunk of 150 liters.
The XEV 9e highest trim comes with following features including a panoramic roof, JBL 1, 400W 16 speaker with, Dolby, heads up display, seven air bags, level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System, 360 degree camera, blind spot detection and parking assistance. The connectivity system it offers is an MAIA acceleration, Snapdragon 8295 chipset, 24GB RAM, 128GB storage, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5G technology.
The entry-level Pack One variant includes six airbags, a reverse camera, electronic parking brake, tyre pressure monitor, three-screen setup, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected tech, 4 speakers, push-button start, auto headlights, climate control with rear vents, height-adjustable driver’s seat, Type-C ports, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.
Know About Mahindra XEV 9e Range and Battery
The XEV 9e is based on Mahindra’s flexible INGLO platform and uses a 59kWh and 79kWh LFP battery pack. The first set of buyers gets a lifetime battery warranty for their batteries; the next clients will get a 10-year/2 lakh km battery warranty. The 79kWh battery can go from 20 to 80 percent in 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger while the 59kWh battery achieves the same from an 140 kW DC fast charger.
It is equipped with an 11kW on-board charger and the Mahindra has 7.2kW and 11kW charging system available. It has a 7.2kW charger, using which the battery takes 8.7 hours to fully charge the 59kWh battery, while the 11kW takes 6 hours. For the 79kWh battery, charging times are 11,7 hours and 8, respectively. The 79kWh model, provides 656MIDC and 533WLTP kilometres, however tests reveals over 500 km real world use. The extent to which the 59kWh version is efficient can be measured by the MIDC cycle for which it delivers 542km.
Details of the Mahindra XEV 9e Powertrain
The cub too is a major winner in the powertrain department with Mahindra local compact three-in-one motor, inverter and transmission. The power output of the 79kWh battery is 286hp and 380Nm in the 0-100kph acceleration time of 6.8 seconds, whereas the 59kWh battery has 231hp motor. The XEV 9e also has a front and rear disc with brake-by-wire technology helping the vehicle to come to a halt in 40 meters when moving at 100kph.
