Mahindra: Auto-mobile giant Mahindra recently announced the addition of Dolby Atmos feature in two specific electrical models; BE 6 and XEV 9e which is the first partnership between Dolby and an Indian auto maker. With this partnership, the new generation of Mahindra car owners can have an enhanced sound quality through the Gaana app which is conveniently placed in the car’s audio system.
Premium Audio System in BE 6 and XEV 9e
Regarding the sound system, both BE 6 and XEV 9e are lavished with 16 Harman Kardon speakers to provide the highest quality sound. The system has tweeters, mid-range drivers and woofers at front seats to give the sound quality and stage near the middle. The centre area offers the patented Unity Speaker from Harman, while the rear surround speakers offer strong mid-range bass. However, to augment this, there is an accompanying subwoofer and two ceiling speakers to complete the feel of the cabin, collectively supported by Dolby Atmos Calibrated system.
Dolby Atmos provides the ability to create a fully immersive audio field and provides clear audio depth and precise sounds. This technology makes car interiors exciting places to be as users can interact with music, podcast, movies, and other content at a deeper level.

The possibilities of this partnership were explained by Karan Grover, Senior Director of Commercial Partnerships for IMEA at Dolby Laboratories. He said that Dolby Atmos in Mahindra’s BE 6 and XEV 9e revolutionizes in-car entertainment making the cabin an area where consumer engagement with the content they are passionate about is enhanced.
