Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid: In May this year, Maruti Suzuki disclosed the fourth-generation Swift. There was much anticipation that earlier the company would offer the hybrid version available overseas. However, to the surprise of most, Maruti Suzuki released just the naturally aspirated Swift with no hybrid in tow.
Contrary to expectations, the company has been seen testing the hybrid version of Swift in India. Indeed, a test mule is now seen for the first time on the roads.
Suzuki Swift Hybrid Prototype Spotted Testing
Interestingly, the company has opted against camouflaging the hybrid variant and, in a departure from normal practice, even left the hybrid badge intact on the tailgate. Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid was recently spotted testing in Bangalore, Karnataka.
Speculations are increasing that Maruti Suzuki is bringing Swift Hybrid to the Indian lineup. In addition to this, the company is suspected to be using this test vehicle for improving its ADAS system, a feature for the upcoming premium electric SUV, e-Vitara.
International Swift Hybrid Contrast From The Indian Swift
For those who are unaware, the Swift Hybrid, on international markets in Japan and Europe, is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, which include adaptive cruise control, adaptive headlight control, lane-keeping assist, and road sign recognition.
The hybrid version from Swift includes most of the latest features, such as a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, startup notification sound, 360-degree camera system, and systems that restrict engine output during startup to help prevent collisions caused by gear shift mistakes.

Of course, in a highly competitive market, pricing is always going to be an issue because currently, the Swift is priced anywhere from Rs 6.49 lakh and Rs 9.59 lakh.
