New Gen Suzuki Alto: Suzuki Alto is also one of the admired kei cars in Japan, at present in ninth generation which was launched in 2021. The latest news of the situation suggests that Suzuki will bring the tenth generation of the Alto to the Japanese market in 2026.
10th Gen Alto Has Emphasized On Weight Reduction
The first generation of the Suzuki Alto appeared in Japan in 1979 and the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 was launched in India in the year 2000. According to what Suzuki has in store for the upcoming 10th generation Alto, there is set to be dramatic enhancements of all kinds, although I believe weight loss of up to 100kg or approximately 40% of the current Alto’s weight is what would place it in a sweet spot. This is especially considering the fact that Alto weights between 680 kg and 760 kg up to date Depending on the model.
The new 10th generation Suzuki Alto is also keenly planned for weight saving; the weight will vary between 580kg to 660kg; this would be even lighter than the third generation Alto. Nonetheless, the fact that some of them incorporate modern safety features which were lacking in previous models will act as a booster to the weight.
To help with this, Suzuki aims to incorporate an improved Heartect platform that is to be made of Ultra High Strength Steel and Advanced High Strength Steel at its best. Also, built-in trumpets will be maximized, and the appearance of an optimum crumple zone will also be provided; the appearance of plastics will further be reduced to cut down general weight.
New Alto Provide Improved Fuel Efficiency
Sophomore 10th generation Suzuki Alto is expected to reduce emissions standard of CO2, the company’s power to weight ratio, and boost fuel economy. The current model in Japan delivers 25.2 km/L with its petrol engine, and 27.7km/L with the mild-hybrid variant. Currently, Suzuki uses a 12V mild-hybrid system on the compact cars: a 49 PS petrol engine combined with a 2-kW electric motor.
In the new Alto, Suzuki is expected to integrate a 48V Super Ene Charge system with lightweight battery and much focus laid on the enhancement of the motor’s power output. This 48V configuration together with a 10-kW electric motor will deliver 30% of the vehicle’s power while at the same time supporting a lightweight vehicle and improved performance. However, the specific number remains to be determined; the 10th-generation Alto could achieve more than 30 km/L of fuel economy.
New Suzuki Alto Price
Price for the current Suzuki Alto starts at 1,068,000 yen (around Rs 5,83,000) for the petrol model and 1,218,800 yen (approximately Rs 6,65,000) for the mild-hybrid model. The expected 10th generation Alto will likely retail for about 1 million yen ($9,100; 569 pounds), or roughly Rs 5,46,000.
