New Honda Passport: Honda has introduced the completely redesigned fourth-generation Passport SUV to the world, featuring a more spacious and sturdy design than its earlier model. The new Passport boasts a striking, upright look and includes an off-road-oriented TrailSport variant, emphasizing Honda’s commitment to establishing it as a versatile and rugged SUV ready for adventure.
The redesigned Passport SUV moves away from the crossover-inspired look of its predecessor, adopting a more defined and upright design that reinforces its SUV character. Its front profile boasts a bold and boxy appearance, featuring rectangular headlamps, a flat clamshell hood with a contrasting black hood scoop and a vertical grille with two horizontal slats and a distinctive Honda badge at the center.
Honda Passport Exclusive Design
The new Passport sports a rugged design with flared fenders, black cladding, and contrasting door handles. It offers higher ground clearance, improved approach angles, 18-inch alloy wheels with 31-inch tires, and a rear featuring a wraparound window, black trim, and a sturdy bumper with a faux silver skid plate. Adding to its tough aesthetic, the bumper includes a broad air intake and a faux aluminum skid plate for an adventurous edge.
Interior and Features of the Honda Passport
The interior of the Passport embodies Honda’s distinctive design, showcasing a thoughtfully arranged layout, tactile buttons and dials, and outstanding ergonomics. This 5-seater SUV boasts an all-black dashboard, enhanced by seat upholstery and door panels that feature contrasting colors and stitching, which differ by trim level.
At the forefront is a 12.4-inch infotainment display that provides off-road-specific information, alongside a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. Other notable features include dual-zone climate control, a 360-degree camera and a comprehensive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite.
Honda Passport’s Powertrain and Off-Road Capabilities
The Honda Passport is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 285 horsepower, coupled with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This dependable engine, found in multiple Honda models worldwide, does not include any electrification features. The TrailSport variant, designed for off-road performance, boasts a specially tuned suspension tailored for challenging terrains.
The Passport is specifically designed for the North American market and will not be offered in India. Instead, Honda is preparing to launch the new Amaze sedan in India on December 4, 2024.
