Images of the second generation Skoda Kodiaq, which is likely to launch in India next year, testing on Indian roads have surfaced again. Although expected to arrive in India as a CKD unit, the sighting of two uncamouflaged test mules suggest that the Kodiaq may actually come equipped with two different trims.
Spy Shot of New Skoda Kodiaq
Further examination of the spy shots shows minor differences between the two Kodiaqs signifying different standard. The model at the rear has a body-colored bumper, with black lining and chrome garnishes hinting at a high-variant. In contrast to the front part, the front model presents a more modest design that is relatively larger sized black plastic sections combined with a middle silver contrasting component. Furthermore, while the front is also wearing alloy wheels the rear part also has aerodynamic optimized wheels but a multi spoke design.
Currently, the Skoda Kodiaq is available in the L&K variant in India at Rs 39.99 lakh, ex-showroom. At its initial release, the Kodiaq initially came with three models, namely Style, Sportline and L&K, but are currently are no longer offered today. Perhaps with the second generation model, one of these trims will be brought back alongside the L&K trim level.
Retain Powerful of Skoda Kodiaq
While the new Skoda Kodiaq will stick to the old model powertrain, the SUV will be offered with a 190hp and 320Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that drives all four wheels. From the spy shots we have seen above other features that have alerted us of the car’s capabilities include a 4X4 badge.
Dynamic Features present in Skoda Kodiaq
Second generation of Skoda Kodiaq offers a lot of fancy equipment, Advanced 13- inch FAA touchscreen system, fully Digital instrument cluster, three physical rotaries with context display for air-conditioning and infotainment. Other features include wireless charging, power panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting among others. The new Kodiaq is almost 100mm longer than the current car in length but it has the exact same wheel base indicating that the new one should have similar interior as the current car.
Scheduled to go on sale in India in Q2 of the subsequent fiscal year, the new Kodiaq will contend with the Jeep Meridian and the forthcoming Volkswagen Tayron.
