Renault 5 Turbo 3E: The new electric 5 Turbo 3E will be cantered around an all-new platform and will utilize state-of-the-art In-Wheel Motor technology which is capable of providing power output over three times that of the original which was last manufactured in 1984. This shall put it as the mightiest production car since the company was founded in Renault.
At the sneak peek of Car of the Year revealing the new model, product chief Bruno Vanel was quick to clarify that 5 Turbo 3E was going to provide an ‘exceptional driving feel’ with a level of responsiveness that would be unique ‘like no other product’ because of the novel powertrain technology on board.
Know The Power and Performance
The new model was first revealed in a fiery 2022 concept that makes more than 374 brake horsepower; when it goes into production, it will offer more than 500 brake horsepower through two in-wheel electric motors.
Such motors include a set that allows the two wheels of the car to work in an independent manner, a fact that was revealed by Vanel. Three-motor in-wheel technology from British Protean Electric company does not require the use of the electronic differential or the mock ‘manual’ stick of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N.
Blazing Speed of 5 Turbo 3E
The 5 Turbo 3E will move from stand still to 62 miles per hour in the under 3.5 seconds, further being described as having breathtaking performance by Vanel. And while it has a new CFRP monocoque construction – like the standard 5, its windscreen angle alone is the same. An increased dash-to-axle ratio and its tubular full chassis with rear roll structure clearly navigate the car in direction of races.
The show car 5 Turbo 3E’s bodywork is largely provocative indeed yet, it is aerodynamically and ventilation optimised with a rear spoiler, diffuser, flared arches and side inlets for motor cooling.
Drift Modes and Playful Design
The concept version was special due to its three drift modes to adjust the level of play from potential to the ability to perform doughnuts. A manual handbrake was fitted and whilst this is believed likely to be deleted come production this is integral the ethos of the project.
Group CEO Luca de Meo ordered to design a “little beast”, stated Sandeep Bhambra, the head of advanced design at the Renault company. Bhambra pointed out that production had always been planned after the idea was well-received.
Exclusive Production of 5 Turbo 3E
Renault has not released production figures of the car but again due to its exclusivity and bespoke characteristics it is most likely to be restricted and cost more than £100,000 (approx. 1 Crore).
These suggestions are most probably going to be done by the Alpine since they are part of the Renault group. Company operations are also considered to be a probable explanation for the high concentration at Dieppe factory of Alpine.
