China is one of the countries that is reputed to have weak enforcement of copyrights, thus manufactures are able to copy western car designs with a lot of ease. Let me pick however a selection of some of these imitations, where some of them are more like the original products, while the other are funny in the extreme.
A good example is the SVH Tundar, a layman’s copy and a sophisticated clone of the full-size Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The SVH Tundar is ungainly-looking and its name appears contrived, in fact, SVH seems to have come up with the name by replacing the last two letters of the Tundra thus resulting in Tundar.

Every reputable automobile design has a clone in China, thanks for the COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT act and Toyota Tundra is not an exception. SVH Tundar is a miniature pickup that is all but a serious attempt to rival full-size Tundra model. However, unlike the Tundra, the Tundar is an essential car: an ultracapacity vehicle with little usage and very little transportation utility.
In the front, you get a squashed version of the current Tundra’s design and large grille and headlights. Still, not much of a real pickup, the miniature has only 13-inch wheels, very little ground clearance, and hardly any interior space at all. The load bay is limited with wheel well encroachment and even features a Tundar logo on the back door.
Interior Inspired From G-Wagon
While the SVH Tundar looks all like the Toyota Tundra from the outside, inside, we have more of a G-Wagon vibe. A flat dashboard, dual-tone color scheme, circular air conditioning vents, and a digital screen borrowed from the G-Class. It does this with a minuscule 1.0 litre 3 cyliner motor that drives only the front two wheels and a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
Due to its compact dimensions and absence of stereotypically macho design features, the Tundar is light years away from being able to perform many of the feats the Toyota Tundra is capable of.
