Toyota Urban Cruiser EV Has Come Up With Unique Look, Will have A Blend of Suzuki and Toyota’s Design Language

Toyota has started the new Urban Cruiser, an all-electric compact SUV model that is related to the new Suzuki e-Vitara model. It is planned that the sale of the Urban Cruiser will begin no earlier than in 2025 in European countries and it may be launched in India too.

Exclusive Look Of New Urban Cruiser

To deviate from its Suzuki rival, Toyota has tried to give the Urban Cruiser a different look in the first place. The front of this brand new SUV offers some of Toyota newest looks, especially the grills seen in the latest 9th gen Camry. Others features consist of head lamps with eyebrows on the bonnet and a hood which is divided by a chrome grill that features the Toyota emblem. They also include a large central air venting, vertical slim side venting and black cladding running from the bottom of that bumper for extra toughness to this part.

The resemblance to its Suzuki counterpart is more apparent in side view here. Other of main accents like the squared-off wheel arches, the muscular-looking haunches, side body cladding and the window lines are borrowed integrally from the Suzuki. It has a USB type charging port on the front fender, where the previous model standard 12V DC charging port was.

In the rear it resemble more with the e-Vitara, the light bar like tail lamps, the bumper design and even the roof mounted spoiler. Yet, Urban Cruiser stand out for its internal detail and treatment within the lamps on the rear portion.

Cabin Designs and It’s Comfort Interior

The cabin looks nearly the same as the Suzuki counterpart with a large central screen secured by a bolt, digital instrument cluster, rectangular air vents and a two-piece steering wheel. A line of physical buttons is placed between the two large central air-con vents and lower, there is a rotary range selector and electric parking control. The main difference is in the trim – the Toyota comes packed with a black interior for that added uniqueness.

The rear seats offer a versatile 40:20:40, a split-folding that makes it easier to alter its storage types. They are also movable forward and backward as well as packed with a reclining feature to ensure the comfort of more passengers.

Range and Battery Power Of New Urban Cruiser

Toyota’s Urban Cruiser will come with FWD and 4WD trims and will have two battery configurations. While called Standard Range, it uses a 49 kWh battery to output 142 hbp and 189 Nm, the Long Range uses a 61 kWh battery to deliver 172 hbp in front wheel drive and 181 hbp with 300 Nm in all wheel drive, which includes a second motor on the rear axle.

The new toyota urban cruiser will benefit from a Trail Mode, in off roading, that function as a limited slip differential which brakes a spinning wheel and transfers power to the opposite one. Lower trim levels are front-wheel-drive models and the revised models also come with Snow Drive mode to minimize wheel slip under snowy surface. Other technology packages also include assist safety technologies like advanced driver assistance systems and 360-degree camera; digital cluster display of 10.25-inch, touch screen length of 10.1-inch; and JBL sound system.

Like its sibling the Suzuki Vitara, the Urban Cruiser will be assembled at the now wholly owned Maruti Suzuki plant in Gujarat.
