Vauxhall Grandland Electric: Vauxhall has cut the price of electric variants of a new generation Grandland SUV, with cuts of up to £4,700 (approx Rs 3,97,434) and the entry of under £40,000 (Rs 3,38,248). This announcement has come hand in hand with the intended shut down of the Luton van plant belonging to Stellantis.
This decision, the sources stated, follows low demand for electric cars and the chances of incurring the costs of the Zero Emissions Vehicle Mandate which seeks to enforce car makers to sell more EVs.
Reduced Cost of Grandland Electric
The Vauxhall Grandland Electric has received a price cut to £44,995 for the build specification, £1,095 cheaper than before, with the mileage version and design trim £2,595 and £3,650 respectively. The mid-runner GS model is least expensive with the ladder down by £4,650, new price at £38,495.
The biggest decrease is offered for the top of the range Ultimate trim that gets £4,700 slashed off the price, now starting from £40,495 for the flagship of the range, an SUV. Whereas the prices of the related Grandland Hybrid model remain the same, starting at £34,700, the cuts on the EV side are designed to increase the alignment with the ICE model even further.
Tax savings Will Start Soon
This scale-back announced on Vauxhall’s Grandland Electric model is in line with an across-the-range expense reduction scheme, after deeper cuts to the electric Corsa and Astra. Self charging electric vehicles will start paying VED in financial year 2025-26 itself and electric cars costing more than £40,000 will pay an expensive car supplement of £410 from second year of registration. However, anyone opting for the all new Grandland Electric car from the production line won’t be charged an extra penny for the said headlight technology, unless in the case they will be purchasing the top-tier trim Ultimate model.
Cut Cost on EV Charging
Its battery capacity ranges from 73kWh and the power delivery for all versions affords the Grandland Electric up to 325 miles fully-electric range. There are also a collecting of charging perks for new electric Vauxhalls, including a free Octopus Energy Ohme Pro wallbox and installation and/or £675 off public charging if bought online. Those purchasing through a Vauxhall retailer also get 50,000 Clubcard points, equivalent to £500.
