Volvo EX40 Car: It is official- Volvo India has decided to change the name of its electric SUV XC40 Recharge, to the EX40. This renaming strategy, was already incorporated about the world in June. This is part of Volvo’s efforts to streamline its electric vehicles present and future and includes the EX30 and EX90. Also, it is believed that the C40 Recharge coupe-SUV will also undergo this change and will be renamed as the EC40.
The new Volvo EX40 has a price tag of Rs 56.10 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, which is a rise from the cost of the XC40 Recharge which was at Rs 54.95 lakh (ex-showroom)
What New You Will Get?
The EX40 is currently available only as Far Spear Plus RWD with a 69kWh battery Lithium-ion pack. It generates 238 horses and 420Nm of torque and has an expected range of 475km as per the WLTP cycle standard. Mechanically it is the same as how the XC40 Recharge operates.
The EX40 comes loaded with features like Pixel LED headlamps, Dual Zone Climate Control, a 12’’ Digital driver display unit, a 9’’ infotainment unit, park assistance, 19-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, power front seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree turn unit and harman kardon speakers. The last two features were absent in the single-motor variant of xc40 recharge.

Volvo India has a few unclaimed stocks of the xc40 recharge available for redemption at the highest website that has gone down by as much as rupees five lakh and five thousand. It is currently offered only in its single motor option, as all variants with twin motors are out of stock. At the same time, the C40 Recharge is offered with a more powerful twin-motor setup with 408hp and larger 78kWh battery and up to Rs 1.05 in discounts.
