Munro MK1 EV With Dual Power Options; Get Impressive Capacity With Dynamic Performance

Munro MK1 EV: Founded in 2019, Munro is a young company that has quickly established itself with its impressive model. While its classic, boxy shape is frequently likened to a rough draft of the legendary Defender, the vehicle is a fully operational SUV. Its robust design has garnered attention from the US Army, along with several businesses in both the US and Canada.

Munro’s Off-Road Performance

Munro’s success can be attributed to its simple and direct approach, steering clear of unnecessary complications. The company is dedicated to providing the most straightforward and practical solutions that fulfill all functional needs. Prioritizing off-road performance, an all-wheel drive (AWD) system is a crucial feature of their model.

The MK_1, as its name suggests, features a single electric motor available in two power outputs: 299 hp and 381 hp, both providing 700 Nm of torque. Positioned centrally within the vehicle, the motor contributes to optimal weight distribution.

Although performance isn’t the main emphasis, the MK_1 can reach 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds in its Performance edition, with a top speed electronically capped at 129 km/h.

Munro’s Battery Options

The MK_1 comes with two battery choices: a compact 61 kWh option and a larger 82 kWh variant. Both batteries support fast DC charging at 100 kW, enabling a recharge in roughly 30 minutes. The MK_1 boasts an impressive driving range, achieving up to 306 kilometers on a single charge.

Munro’s Traditional Features and Capabilities

Built on a traditional galvanized steel frame, the vehicle features a ground clearance of 480mm. It is engineered to navigate water obstacles as deep as 800mm and can manage an approach angle of 84 degrees along with a descent angle of 51 degrees. The 4×4 system is supplied by a reputable expert company in the industry, as stated by Munro.

In addition to its impressive off-road capabilities, the MK_1 prioritizes practicality. Its cargo space accommodates a Euro pallet, while the vehicle can handle a payload of up to 1000 kg and tow as much as 3500 kg.

The initial batch of 50 handcrafted units will be included in the “Founders Edition” series, with a starting price of 50,000 euros. Looking ahead, production may increase to 250 units per year with the establishment of a new factory, although this expansion is not expected to take place until 2024. The ultimate aim is to boost production to 2,500 units annually by 2027.
