The new Skoda Octavia RS will be unveiled at the next Bharat Mobility Show and will be also brought to India along with the all new Kodiaq SUV which will be introduced in the country for this first time.
Limited Edition Octavia RS Models in India
The last two variants of Octavia RS – the RS 230 and RS 245 have been brought to India only in limited numbers in CBU imported . The present generation Octavia RS 230 was introduced in 2017 while the current generation more potent Octavia RS 245 was unveiled during the Auto Expo 2020.
The standard fourth-generation Octavia built on MQ250 was launched in India in 2021, but it was pulled out in 2023 due to compliance with the new BS6.2 emission norms. But the model was still sold in the overseas markets and it received a mid-life minor face lift.
Fourth-Gen Octavia RS
The same sources also indicate that fourth generation Octavia RS will be unveiled at the upcoming BMAMCS event solely to test the reaction of the purchasers and may well be slowly introduced in the future, too. They are turbo-petrol engine of 2.0-L TSI with power 265hp and torque of 370 Nm. Since it will be imported in a CBU form it will be expected to attract a higher price than other competitors brands.
Locally assembly of the facelifted fourth generation Octavia was hinted at by Skoda in the past but this seems highly improbable at the moment. The model to be introduced in India will bear the ‘Exclusive Selection’ emblem or the much popular ‘L&K’ brand name as per the positioning of the Octavia in the market. Still, if local assembly is possible, the Octavia might be even cheaper, around Rs 30 lakh.
